Easy Cooking With Chef Allen's Products Back to Recipes
Tamarind Chili Grilled Steak with Corn and Black Bean Relish

Ingredients to Serve-4
  • 2 large sirloin steaks
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 1/2 cups Tamarind Chili Spicy Grill Sauce
  • 1 cup cooked black beans
  • 1 cup cooked corn kernels
  • 1 small red pepper, diced
  • 1 small red onion, diced
  • 1 medium jalapeno, diced
  • 3 tablespoons cilantro, chopped
  • 4 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey
To prepare the steak : Preheat the grill. Season the steaks with salt and pepper, drizzle with one tablespoon of olive oil. Place the steaks on the hottest part of the grill. Sear the first side for approximately one minute then turn the steaks and sear the other side for a minute. Move the steaks to a lower heat and continue to cook the steaks for 3 minutes on each side. Baste with the Tamarind - Chili Spicy Grill sauce as you turn each steak.

To prepare the relish: In a small bowl toss together the black beans, corn , red pepper, onion, jalapeno, cilantro, lime juice, honey and remaining olive oil.

To serve: Slice the steaks across the grain and garnish with the relish. Serve additional Tamarind - Chili sauce on the side for dipping.
