The dishes that we think of being Jewish usually are connected historically and geographically to the cultures in which Jews have lived and adapted themselves to local conditions and natural resources.

No raw materials start out as being Jewish. No potato, no apple, nor salmon is Jewish per se. Jewish cooking is meaningless unless it is tied to a time and a place. Simply because all fruits and vegetables are kosher, it does not make them Jewish. Kashruth, is a system of rules that define Kosher foodsó foods fit for Jews to eat.

In Jewish Cooking: Context is everything. Come learn and taste delicious, easy entertaining cooking from Chef Allen at his restaurant for a lunch and learn program

Taste of the NFL

Taste of the NFL was born at Super Bowl XXVI. The Party with a Purpose was launched through the hard work and dedication of hundreds of volunteers. Thirty-two of the finest chefs from around the country, one from each NFL city, serve up their specialties alongside an alumni player from each of the NFL teams. Chef Allen Susser will represent the Miami Dolphins and will serve his Garlicky Guava Shrimp dish. Every NFL cityís Americaís Second Harvest Food Bank will receive a portion of the net proceeds.

New Cooking Class : "Culinary Craft" Classes
Beginning on Thursday, March 2, 2006

The cost is $135 per person

Students will use the finest ingredients available while training their palates and refining their cooking skills. The "Cooking Craft" classes will focus on Miami's diverse styles of cooking and embrace the various ingredients and cultures represented. Participants will explore the basics and techniques of cooking as well as some of the most innovative trends from popular sauces to mastering the flavors of Cuban, Caribbean, Latin, South East Asian and Mediterranean- which are all wrapped up into our featured Palm Tree Cuisine. "Culinary Craft" Classes are generally scheduled for the 1st Thursday of the month from 10 a.m.- 1p.m. Please check the calendar for details.
