from our family to yours! This year in the Chinese 2005 calendar we are the year of the Rooster. The Chinese calendar dates back centuries before the Julian calendar we use at present day. It measures time based on the astronomical observations of the movement of the sun, moon and stars, and is highly accurate. And one more thing the first day of New Year's in China is February 9, 2005.

Art shows continue at Chef Allen's. To kick off the New Year, artist Robin
Morris will be exhibiting her "Passion for Food Collection". Beginning
January 1, 2005
Robin's artwork will be on display.On Wednesday January 26, the
formal Art show begins at 6:00 to 7:30 pm. Robin Morris will be
on site answering questions and sharing her views on her work. Art will also
be avialbe for purchase.
Guests will enjoy complimentary wine and passed hors d'oeuvres. There will
also be a special 4-coursemenu available to those guests that wish to stay
on and dine. This special
menu is priced at $55 per person plus tax and gratuity. Please RSVP to art
show and dinner reservations are highly recommended

Janet Reno is Chef Allen's special guest speaker at our next "Food For Thought", Women's Luncheon Series. If you haven't been to our Luncheon series yet, this would be a great way to start off the New Year! Not only does Chef Allen feature notable speakers but he also attracts a wonderful mix of ladies, from business ladies and active members of our community, which genuinely makes up for a fun group. As always, Lunch is $34 at 11:30 am. Three Course lunch prepared by no other than Chef Allen and paired with a glass of Coastal Wine. Advance payment necessary to make a reservation.
