McCormick "Miami Spice"

McCormick was a sponsor last year of S.O.S. Taste of the Nation and again this year for the Summer program of S.O.S 2004. Mc McCormick has bottled the excitement and heat of Miami’s cooking developed by Chef Allen Susser.
When approached with the concept of a Miami spice restaurant program, Chef Allen created a spice box of aromas and flavors that could blend Miami's cultural diversity and sophistication. He wanted to make cooking Miami style as easy as a shake from a spice jar. And now it’s possible! Miami Spice is good for cooking poultry, meats and fish.

The tremendous support was there again at the Fairmont Isle Resort and Club where the Taste of the Nation event took place, on Monday July 19, 2004. Over 800 people showed up to support the cause. Guests tasted cuisine prepared by the brilliant chef's of Miami including: Chef Doug Rodriquez of Ola, Chef Robin Haas of Chispa, Elizabeth Barlow from The Purple Dolphin, Chef Thomas Buckley from Nobu, Chef Thomas Connell from the Americana at the Ritz Carlton,

Chef Andrew Marc Rothschild from the Forge and Chef Allen of Chef Allen's just to name a few.

Not only were guests sampling decatent food from all these fabulous restaurants but sipping wine from over 10 different wineries. Guests were able to bid on silent auction items such as yoga lessons, belly dancing classes, dinner for two at RumiÍ to over 30 exciting live auction items, including, cruises, resort stays, vintage wines and elegant wine dinners at some of the top restaurants in Miami.

With that said, this event was made possible once again this year because of the tremendous support of Miami's finest 50 restaurants, wineries, American Express, Jenn-Air, Southern Wine & Spirits, Sysco, Daily B read Food Bank, Camillus House to name a few because the list goes on. Proceeds from ticket sales and auction items of this year's Taste of the Nation will reach thousands of low-income families through foods and services. This year we raised over $XXXXX. Thank you!
